HELLO!

I’m a mixed media artist working with a variety of media such as paint, paper, and fiber. I create paintings, collages, and fiber art creations such as weavings, art quilts, and soft sculptures. These creations are inspired by the forms, textures, and colors of the landscapes and natural environment where I have lived and traveled. From abstract watercolor seascapes and sun drenched desert landscapes, to rolling felted hills and rivers on a large-scale art quilt, my creative process is both meditative and inspiring as I capture the essence of these meaningful places through my chosen materials. Although my artwork may have a specific destination or element in mind, my hope is that you are able to connect with my work and discover something that is reminiscent of a special place or element in your own life.

I was born in Monterey, California and have lived in many locations near the ocean, mountains and rivers of the Pacific Northwest and California. I moved to Connecticut in 2001 where I studied studio art and currently teach high school students. This career provides me with a rewarding opportunity to support my students in their endeavor to discover and develop their own creativity through painting, mixed media, sculpture and fiber arts. After school, summers and on weekends, I can be found creating inside my studio in the woods near my home.
